Kagami is the older fraternal twin sister of Tsukasa Hiiragi. Her grades are great, hence she studies very hard. Unlike Tsukasa, Kagami not really good in cooking. She is the only one who separate and always ends in different class. That’s why she joins Humanities in her second year, so she can in the same class with them, but ends with her in different class for second and third year. Konata refers Kagami as Kagamin. Once, she a bit pissed about it and asks Konata to call her other than that, but they can't find a good nick name for her, then she wants Konata to call her Kagami-sama, as a joke. But Konata really calls her that, it really embarrassed her, so she wants Konata to call her by the old name. Konata love to irritate Kagami, and arguing with her. Their arguments act as one of the main factors of comic relief throughout the series. Just like Konata, Kagami also love video games, but she prefers knowledge based games and side scrolling shooters. She love reading light novel, but gets lonely, because no one has the same hobby as she does.
Kagami is stereotypical Tsundere. Once she can be straight and intolerant type, but sometimes she easily feel to become shy and lonely at times (especially when separate in different class with Konata and Tsukasa). Kagami has average body, with long purple hair tied in two bunches and
has sharp eyes. She always concerned about her weight, counting every kilogram she gains or loses. Despite her concern about her weight, she has no willpower to control her eating habits, resulting in an "eat now, fret later" attitude. Just like Konata who love to irritate Kagami, she also seems enjoys mocking Konata's smaller body, her laziness (in study or sport) and her habits to be a troublemaker, which usually make Konata becoming very defensive. In spite of her behavior toward Konata, she actually has most concern to her and has a deep sense of attachment to her. Konata often refers her as she has violent personality.
Both Kagami and Tsukasa are left handed. Kagami shares the name of her creator, Kagami Yoshimizu. Kagami was his pen name in his school, and the same personality thought a long time ago.
